Wii-lly Good Fun Family Memories Thanks to Wii Sports Games for Grand Kids and Granny Nanny

Author

What do you get when you combine a black or white Wii console, great Wii sports games like tennis or bowling, three grandboys, and one senior Sandwich Generation granny nanny? You get a lot of laughs, a ton of fun times and so many special family memories. Yup, this baby boomer has gone over to the Wii side and is loving it! Even if I do lose almost every single game to three adorable rapscallions who are only 7 and 8! (What can I say. Its their game and they get a LOT more practice than I do!)

I had tried Wii a year ago when their console was a bright and shiny and new. It seemed interesting but I just couldnt get the hang of the remote controllers. Now its still bright and shiny BUT

It all started when a couple of the grown-ups in the family kicked the grandkids off the Wii temporarily to settle down and enjoy a fun game from my baby boomer past Mario Brother games, to be exact! I had enjoyed that so much with my kids when they were little, and lo and behold it was the same game being played on the Wii. Turns out you can download Wii games, including the original Mario Brother games I fondly remembered playing on the little NES. Of course, I had to give it a try. And I was thrilled to discover that once I started playing a game I was fairly familiar with (even if it had been 15+ years ago), I could then understand how to use the remote controller. (Probably could have figured it out sooner if Id just tried a bit. 🙂 ). From that point on, I was hooked!

I now have a great Wii book to help me, have played multiple Wii sports games of bowling, tennis, baseball, and even golf, and even get an occasional Mario Brother games fix (the grandkids arent as fond of it as I am). Even better, I have such wonderful family memories with my grandkids to add to my stockpile of memories from when my kids were young (it goes so FAST), and its definitely grand! Ive even toyed with getting my very own Wii for my house hmmm, wonder if they make a Pink or Red Wii console
